Social Solidarity

“Law, without humanity, is not always just. And so often it is humanity that the law fails to uphold. It is in solidarity, the bond that connects us, that we find, beyond the Law, the humanity that ensures justice. And solidarity is the foundation of social justice, the one that safeguards every other form of justice.”

Inês Krusse Gomes & J. M. Simões de Almeida

Our Foundation

kgsa was built on a clear purpose: to support and defend social causes. That mission continues to define our identity. While we advise clients across the social, technological, and business sectors, we work selectively, choosing partners who are guided by purpose and committed to meaningful impact.

Social solidarity remains our starting point. And that origin alone commands a unique commitment.

Our Commitment

Today, kgsa is a recognised reference in legal, strategic, and regulatory advisory within the social and solidarity sector. We combine technical excellence, innovation, and proximity to support the institutions that uphold the social fabric of the country.

Our role is to help these organisations: strengthen their mission and autonomy, navigate complex legal and regulatory requirements, and serve their communities with greater humanity, clarity, and impact.

We continuously invest in the capabilities and tools that enable us to support a sector built on solidarity, autonomy, and responsible freedom — and to help shape the legal frameworks that protect and encourage it.

Our Work

Our approach integrates rigorous legal expertise, social innovation, and a long-term strategic perspective. We support organisations across the entire institutional cycle:

  • Incorporation and statutory design
  • Governance structuring and internal reorganisation
  • Day-to-day regulatory and operational compliance
  • Contractual frameworks, labour relations, co-funding, and institutional policies
  • Support during inspections and adaptation to evolving legal requirements

Our work is strengthened by proprietary tools, most notably the Guide to Regulatory Requirements for Social Support Establishments and IPSS, a sector reference now used by nearly two thousand institutions. This guide reflects our ongoing commitment to clarifying regulatory complexity, professionalising the sector, and building institutional capacity.
